At The Wooded Pig, we are passionate about producing the highest quality Irish charcuterie using ethically raised free range Irish Meat.
Using traditional continental curing methods, at The Wooded Pig, we are embarking on a journey to develop a range of charcuterie products with an Irish twist.
The pigs are raised on the farm and processed in a purpose built unit on the farm in to a variety of different products.
The Ancient Celts were of the belief that Tara, Co. Meath is an entrance to the otherworld, and when you turn off the road, onto the home of The Wooded Pig, it's hard to argue with them
The Wooded Pig is in Tara, Co.Meath. The farm is a mixed farm with tillage, native woodland and livestock.
The woodland is Ash and Oak which provides a tranquil and stimulating environment to rear our pigs in. The woodland environment is a pigs natural habitat and they thrive in it.
We grow barley to feed the pigs on the farm. Allowing us to maximise the farms potential in a sustainable way.
We farm rare breed pigs, as a result the pigs are slower to grow which allows the pork to develop a deeper flavour which lends itself perfectly for charcuterie.
